We often hear that “it takes a village to raise a child” but what happens when the village isn’t there? What happens to the expecting person?

I moved to Hilversum almost 10 years ago and adjusting to Dutch life has not always been easy, especially around the pregnancy and birth of my children.

Being pregnant and giving birth in a foreign country can be scary. As a Doula, I am here to support you and be there for you. I can help you make sense and help your voice be heard.

As a member of the expat community, I understand the challenges (expecting) parents face.

Do you have questions regarding your pregnancy and birth and don’t know whom to ask? Do you need additional information? Maybe you only need someone non-judgemental to talk about birth and pregnancy? Do you maybe not fully understand the Dutch maternity system? Maybe need some help after your baby is born and your partner is back to work?

I am here to help you understand and navigate through the Dutch birth care system, supporting you through the different phases of pregnancy, birth and post-partum.

Are you thinking about having a child but the thought of going through a pregnancy abroad scares you?  Don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
